Nothing Beats a Free Vacation

Last year our family went to Disney on vacation. We pretty much stuck with the Disney properties throughout the entire trip, but I think next time our family goes down (2011? 2012?) we’ll take more side trips to non-theme park places like Kissimmee. Denis and I like to walk around cute little downtown areas and explore art galleries or quirky shops. You can’t do that in Mouseville. There’s also not much history to be had in Orlando, whereas going away from that area might provide cheaper (or even free) entertainment by way of historical home tours (which I love taking), or having breakfast at the eatery that only the locals know about.

Have you ever been to Kissimmee? I know it’s close to Orlando, and looks like fun given the commercials I see on TV all the time. What’s cool is that right now there is a sweepstakes to win one of three weekend trips (3 days/2 nights) for two, as well as two WEEKlong vacations for a family of four! Both of those options are awesome! The first drawing has already been held, but there are two more – May 1 and June 1.

Since our budget for vacations dropped to pretty much ZERO this year, I’d love to win a trip!

I shouldn’t say this, but I was in Kissimmee as a kid when we went to Disney, and my only memory of it is that the biggest spider I’ve ever seen in my life was on a bush outside of our motel. We took pictures and everything. They have really big spiders in Kissimmee. Sorry, I had to say it! 🙂
