So Denis and I made a vow not to do anything for Valentine’s Day. Not because we’re anti, but because we can’t afford it. A few times over the past few weeks I’ve said, “Now, just to clarify – we’re not getting each other anything for Valentine’s Day, right?” and each time Denis has said that is correct.
So, I didn’t get him anything. Not a single thing. I did clean out the kitty litter a few days ago, and told him that was his gift. He said, “Thanks – and yours is that I cleaned the kitchen.” Works for me! But this morning I woke up in fear that he’d leave a gift somewhere in the house for me. As I got ready for work though, I was grateful that no card, no box, no gift appeared anywhere in the house.
Tonight I’ve offered up free babysitting for some friends of ours who had their first baby a couple months ago. It’s an opportunity for them to get out of the house for a couple hours and just be with each other, knowing that their newborn is in good hands (if I do say so myself).
Did you get a Box from Marmie at least? 😉
Yes, however I forgot to take it home last night, so they’ll be getting the gifties a day late (but they don’t know that so…)
