Today is our big BBQ that we’ve been planning. Our fridge is stocked with food, our cooler is stocked with beer, the sun is up and shining, and we’re expecting about 20 kids, adults and dogs popping over this afternoon.
The kids let us sleep late this morning – my eyes saw “8:55” on the clock when I finally woke up to hear their playing in the other room. That was a nice surprise.
Church went well yesterday – I was the de facto worship leader since most of our pastor’s family is out of town to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of his parents. Since the pastor was out we were treated to a video sermon by Andy Stanley, a pastor out of Georgia. The service was sparsely populated due to the holiday weekend – only about 50 people in the “audience”. But the band had fun, I only messed up a couple times, and I think we showed we can do it okay without the head honchos around.
Saturday we didn’t do too much – I took the kids to our neighbors to play for a while, and also to the park down the street. It was such a nice day out that they really had a great day. By the end of it CootieGirl had a red face from both exhaustion and the sun.
Thanks again for a great time. gail
