New York CityPass

Planning a trip to New York City for the upcoming holidays? Plan on visiting such luminary spots as The Metropolitan Museum of Art or Modern Art Museum, or taking an elevator trip to the top of the Empire State Building Observatory? Perhaps you’d rather take a tour of the Manhattan skyline from the water aboard a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise? Then look no further than the New York CityPass which is a handy little book that has coupons for those sightseeing options, along with a map, public transportation information and insider tips on the best time to visit each attraction.

Even better – CityPass books and coupons save time by allowing you to skip most main entrance ticket lines! A New York CityPass is $65 for adults (compared to $130 price if the tickets were purchased separately), and $49 for youths 12-17 (a value of $89.50). That’s a GREAT deal and if you plan on traveling to New York for the holidays it’s a must have coupon book.

And if your trip is taking place AFTER the holidays – never fear! The CityPass Winter Special runs from December 15 to March 15, 2008. If you order the book online, CityPass offers overnight delivery options and inexpensive gift wrapping with a personalized gift card if you opt to give it to someone for Christmas.

New York City is a great city to visit, and I definitely recommend taking the elevator trip up the Empire State Building. That building is SUCH a landmark to the city and it truly does have a spectacular view of the entire Manhattan skyline. And I believe the Museum of Modern Art just had a major overhaul and is now beautiful and shiny and like new. I seem to recall that one of the head honchos at the investmemt bank where I worked rented it out for a night for a birthday party after it re-opened. So it must be lovely.

Besides these kinds of places, New York City is just wonderful with all of its options – and the CityPass book can certainly make it a bit easier for any tourist. The map and public transportation information alone make this book a “must have” for anyone visiting NYC.
