New Start, New Theme

With Monday starting a brand new chapter in my life, I felt it was time for a new theme around here. Crisp, clean, no-nonsense. I like it! I had activated a theme I used last year but got an email from someone saying it wasn’t showing properly in IE. Sure enough, the posts were all at the bottom of the page. I tested a couple other themes and found the same thing happening in IE. So I went in hunt of new themes, and found three, one of which is this one. I’ll use this one until I’m feeling colorful again.

Took the kids over to see their after-school program, today. There aren’t many kids – only 50-60 kids. In that regard I feel bad, but the director told me they spend most of their time outside playing in the afternoons when it’s not rainy, which made me happy to know they won’t be cooped up for those two hours.

I’ve also got a parent who will check the afternoon bus on Monday to make sure my kids aren’t accidentally on it! My fear is that they’ll ride the bus home only to find I’m not here. That’s my worst nightmare (and the reason I took them to the after-school program today so they’d know what they need to do). If my kids end up coming home on the bus, my neighbor will take them to her house for an hour while I try to find someone else who can take them after that until I get home at 5:15 p.m.

I made a long-overdue hair appointment for tomorrow at 11 a.m. Since I’m having a photo ID taken on Monday morning I’d rather not look like Raggedy Anne when I get in front of the camera for the photo. Especially since I’m going to have to use that photo ID for the next year or two (or three or four – depending on how much I like the job).
