I love how easily kids make friends. The neighbors who lived behind us recently moved, and a new family moved in. They have two sons, near the same age as CootieGirl and CootieBoy. They became instant friends, and my kids apparently spent a good portion of the weekend across the fence playing with the boys, jumping on the trampoline the couple set up, as well as the playset that was left behind. When I got home from work last night they were over there running around – including going in and out of the house. I chatted with the dad for a few minutes, and he seems like a really down to earth nice guy and I look forward to meeting his wife (she is a nurse and has been working nights since they arrived in the area).
And their dog? Just the cutest dog EVER. He said he has papers saying it’s a purebred Beagle, but it CAN’T be. Picture the general appearance of a beagle on a dachsund body.
I KNOW, RIGHT? TOTALLY CUTE.
About ten seconds after I saw the dog I said, “If you ever need a petsitter, don’t hesitate to ask – I LOVE your dog.” I didn’t say that they may never get it back because once it crosses the fence it becomes MINE ALL MINE!!
