New Digs

Like the new look? Supposedly this these has its own admin page where you can make up to 200 personalized changes – but I couldn’t find it! So, you are stuck with this one for a while. The good news is that I have some old header images that I can add to the top rotating banner so that’ll be nice to be able to use those again. When I can find the customization page, that is.

I’m thinking about signing up for a new domain. It’s only $10 to register a domain, and I would aim to have that become a less personal blog – with an eye on it eventually becoming a financially profitable blog. I have a couple ideas of what kind of blog that will be – as well as a name – but will wait another month or two to make that final decision.

What sucks is that I signed up for BlogHer a long time ago, but missed the window to get in on the BlogHer ads. So I won’t be able to take advantage of those kinds of ads on the new site – I’ll have to stick with Google Adsense and a couple other kinds of advertising. But with any luck my audience will be such that even without BlogHer ads on the site I’ll make a few bucks a month. I’m excited about the possibilities.

Cootiehog will remain intact for the couple hundred regular readers I have – this personal blog isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. As I said, the new website will be completely impersonal – but should become popular if I’m able to do what I’m envisioning.

When it’s ready to be unveiled I’ll let you know!

Update: What’s strange is that when I logged back into my admin panel after writing that I couldn’t find the admin page for the options for this theme – it magically appeared! So I’ve made some modest changes although you probably won’t notice them because they are very minor cosmetic changes.
