My Beautiful “Baby” Girl

CootieGirl turned 7 today. Seven. That’s insane. And for the record, she’s pretending she’s 8. So you’ve been warned.

She had her party last week, so today was a family-only kind of thing. She and Denis made cupcakes for her birthday – she’ll take them to school on Monday so her classmates can enjoy them. We made several big ones and will have those tonight with a big old “7” candle on top.

She got lots of fun presents from family – Zhu zhu pets, clothes, a cool poster of Cape Cod, a couple games, a couple DVDs, cash, and bike safety gear.

She is tall for her age. She’s the tallest girl in her first grade class and is quite close to being the tallest of ALL the kids in her class, except there are two freaky tall boys that are taller than her.

She is a perfectionist. If she can’t do it right the first time, she never wants to do it again.

She likes boys. A lot. She had a boyfriend for a few weeks, but it didn’t last. I’m sure she has her eye on someone else. Whatever happened to the boys-have-cooties stage? She passed that one entirely.

She loves math. She can’t read worth squat, but she likes numbers. Well, she likes money. But that’s math, so it counts. *lol*

She’s sneaky. Did I tell you about the dozen or so candy wrappers we found hidden underneath a chair in our TV room? Yeah, those were hers. And she pretty much ate her way through two brand new boxes of Tic Tacs that I had in a kitchen drawer for later use – I had no idea until I went in the drawer to get something. They were almost empty. And she has snuck a few SillyBandz from a drawer in our office, too. You gotta keep an eye on that one.

She can be good to her brother. Except for when he doesn’t want to play with her and she attempts to bite him on the face. That didn’t happen a long time ago – it happened Thursday.

She loves giving hugs and kisses whenever the need arises. She’s incredibly sweet and charming and fun and the most awesome 8-but-really-7 year old girl.

And I love her very much.
