I know this movie got bad reviews, but I’m shocked at just how truly awful it really was. It was pretty bad. Which is surprising, since it was done by Terry Gilliam (he of “The Fisher King” which is a GREAT movie), and starred Matt Damon and Heath Ledger.
The special effects were incredibly cheesy and horribly done, the script was boring in it’s attempt to be slightly witty, and Heath Ledger was a mess (although he was playing a character that was SUPPOSED to be a mess but his portrayal was just distracting). I can’t help but think this movie was amazing on paper (thus the involvement of the aforementioned good people, and Jonathan Pryce). But on celluloid it was just terrible.
Don’t waste your time.
1 wolf out of five – and only because two fake boyfriends were in it, and are easy on the eye.
