Oh how I love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The makers of “Shaun of the Dead” (one of my top ten movies of all time) joined together again for the tale of Nicholas Angel (Pegg), a top London cop who is so good that his chief is forced to relocate him since he makes every other cop look bad. They send him to a quiet country village of Sandford. However, things aren’t as crime-free as they seem.
The movie doesn’t come out in America for another month, but let me URGE YOU to go see it when it comes out. The directing is quite similar to that of “Shaun”, it’s quite funny, it has an amazing cast (including many that starred in “Shaun”), and best of all – there are several cute moments in “Fuzz” that are total homages for the “Shaun” audience.
Was it as good as “Shaun”? Well, I admit that I’m totally biased since it’s one of my top ten of all time, and have to say no, it’s not. But – it’s pretty damn good. And the website that I linked up there as part of the image? Very fun!
If you liked “Shaun of the Dead” even a little bit, I know you will like “Hot Fuzz” – it’ll definitely be in my DVD collection once it comes out on video.
