Yesterday I opted to go to the movies by myself, since Denis had to work and the available times just didn’t fit with his schedule. Of the two blockbusters, (Kong and Narnia), I chose “Narnia”.
Despite scenes that looked eerily familiar (read: LoTR Triology) it was an engaging movie with an equally engaging cast. I haven’t read the books, but I might go ahead and start reading them because I may not be able to wait for any sequels to be released in the theater.
Some of the special effects were surprisingly cheesy (most noticably the shots of the kids on “mountaintops” – the background green screen was incredibly fake, which was rather amateurish given today’s capabilities for special effects).
Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed my two hours alone to watch the movie and will definitely buy this one when it’s released on DVD. CootieGirl’s gonna love it.

So when do we get your account of THE wedding!!??
Oh, I took my almost 6-yr old to see Narnia just before Christmas. Loved it! I was kind of nervous beforehand because those were my favorite books as a kid and I was so afraid the movie would not do the book proper justice. I was pleasantly surprised.
Although, Mr. Tumnus was a little creepy in the movie and the book Tumnus is quite benign.
My mother gave me the entire series in Paper Back for Christmas. I was surprised how fast I read through them. Anyway, you are more than welcome to borrow it at any time. I love my mother to death but I really wanted them in Hard Cover… so we all know what that means.
Let me know.

Side Note: I was home that day as well… drat, I would have totally gone to the movies with you. We really need to sync our schedules better.
