I admit I almost didn’t finish this movie. It’s quiet plot put me to sleep in the first 45 minutes. But then I began to try and actively watch and made it through the whole thing.
The movie is about Bobby Jones, a golfer back in the 1920s/1930s who dominated the sport much the way Tiger Woods did back about 6-7 years ago. A fresh face, an amazing talent, and surprising humility. Bobby is good at what he does – and he does everything from sell real estate to law school to playing amateur golf. In the end he decides to go for the Grand Slam – winning all four major tournaments in one year.
Jim Caviezel (*drool*) plays Jones, with Clare Forlani playing his wife Mary. Together they battle a rare illness that plagues Bobby and the intensity with which he plays golf.
It was an okay movie – could have been a bit more exciting.
2 1/2 sandpits out of five.

Thanks for the review on that golf movie. I was thinking of renting that movie, but after hearing that it put you to sleep, I don’t think I will waste my time.
Have you ever seen “The Legend of Bagger Vance”? It’s a golf oriented movie…having to do with Bobby Jones and the like…but a little more fictional than the one you watched. If you haven’t seen it (which you probably have), I would suggest it…and I hate golf.
