More TV Thoughts

Solitary 2.0: Are Denis and I the only ones that watch this AWESOME reality show on Fox Reality network? We were spellbound by it last year in its first season, and were devastated that the final episode aired while we were in the process of moving and without cable. We only learned who won after we moved into our apartment and got the internet set up so that we could go to the website to see who won. This year’s group of contestants were great and the challenges were facscinating. I really wanted #7 to win, but in the end it was #8. This show ranks right up there with The Amazing Race for my favorite reality game show. Can’t WAIT for Solitary 3.0!!

Moonlight: Ugh. This show was AWFUL. I can’t help but think they made some very serious mistakes on the way to getting this on the air. Number 1: this guy – the lead? He’s awful! And they the network honchos kept him and got rid of EVERYONE ELSE involved with the production at some point. David Greenwalt, honcho for now defunct Angel, had to leave because of health issues. Thus the major overhaul. They added Jason Dohring to the cast, but even his brief appearances couldn’t save this horribly contrived, thoroughly bland vampire show. I long for it to be cancelled quickly, if only to avoid more people seeing the cheesy background effect when the lead guy is driving his convertible with the top down. It’s laughable. And not in a good way.

Bionic Woman: The show may have gotten mostly negative reviews, but I rather liked the pilot episode. And not because of the new bionic woman, but the first one (no, not 1970s Jamie Somers but the “first one” featured in the new show). She’s creepy. And great. So I’ll keep this one on the Tivo schedule.

Yo Gabba Gabba: I caught this kids show strictly by accident a couple weekends ago. It’s great! I have various episodes being Tivo’d this week for CootieGirl and CootieBoy. They liked the episode we saw a couple weeks ago.

Oh wow, Ollie is a HUGE fan of Yo Gabba Gabba, and I know of no one else who watches this show! It’s great, and I especially love the guest stars who come and teach their own dances (I enjoyed Elijah Wood and Mya).
