Money Down The Drain

This morning I picked up Cooper The Dog from the vet’s office where he was kenneled last week. As I mentioned yesterday, while kenneled he also had his teeth cleaned and a tumor removed. The total bill? A whopping $995. I can’t even begin to tell you how painful it was to put down a credit card to pay for that (if it had been closer to $600 I possibly could have paid cash). Good thing 90% of my Christmas shopping is already done this year or else NO ONE would be getting gifts this year.

Anyway, Cooper is home and all is well. His incision on the side of his face where the tumor was is HUGE. I feel bad for him. He looks a right mess. He is NOT wearing a queen’s collar to keep from scratching, so I opted to put a sock on the paw he’d use to scratch at the stitches and taped it up to make sure it doesn’t come off. Tonight I’ll put a sock on the other paw he might use to scratch at the stitches (although I have a feeling any pain he’d have from scratching would cause him to stop).

He is on three different meds for the next week and goes back in two weeks to have the stitches taken out. When I emailed Denis to tell him the amount I paid, he too agreed that after our current animals have crossed over the bridge – NO MORE PETS.

I don’t want to hear a statement of “No More Pet’s” from the Cootie household!!!!
Though I fully understand the $ side of things where they are concerned.
