Money and Elevations

Denis said we got the money from the bank today for the land. YAY! It arrived via FedEx a few minutes ago, so we’re all set. The closing date has been bumped up to the 25th, which means when we walk the land on the 28th we’ll be walking on OUR LAND. That’s so awesome.

And I scanned in pictures of the front elevation of the houseplan. I did two different roof types to see which one people liked better. In actuality, on the second roofline we want TWO of those gables – one over each set of double windows. But I couldn’t get Punch to acknowledge that I have four separate exterior walls along the front of the second floor. So instead there is one big one which is very imposing.

And ignore the fact that the house porch is directly on the grass. We plan on having at least two steps up from the ground to the porch. But to build a true “front porch” in Punch you have to build a shed and attach it to the house, but I couldn’t be bothered. Instead I faked it by putting in columns and then a roof over the column. Obviously when we give this to an architect he’ll be doing all the “real” stuff when he converts it to blueprints.

The brown thing on the right of the house is part of the fence for the backyard.

I like the second one with the two gables like you describe. Looks a lot like a farmhouse, which I love.
