Miscellany

1) That BlogRush widget in my sidebar? Ain’t doin’ nothin’ for this blog. I may take it down. Like other frustrated bloggers, I’ve yet to see more than 1-2 clickthrus from that widget, despite what the stats at BlogRush’s website say. And while I appreciate that I have been introduced to some new bloggers through the widget, I find it disheartening to see the same dozen blogs listed over and over again.

2) I am officially tired. 2 1/2 hours to go. I just may go to bed the same time the kids do tonight.

3) Despite being out Friday, my desk wasn’t a complete mess when I returned today. In fact, two major items from my task were completed while I was out. Yippee!!! Mr. BIL is really busy this week with general non-client related meetings, and I hope that translates into no NEW work being created so that the OLD work can be sent out and taken off my task list.

4) I’m wearing a piece of green string around my finger to remind me to think outside the box when it comes to my faith, and remember that it is based on GRACE not WORKS. The sermon from yesterday’s service talked about “Is God 100% pleased with you?” and Pastor Chris asked everyone to white down the percentage we think we are at in God’s mind and why that’s our percentage. Well, I put 100%, with the reason being God’s grace. And even knowing that, I still find that I think about the grading curve a lot more than I thought I did (as in, “If I do this good thing right now, it’ll make up for that white lie I told this morning”). He asked everyone to wear the green string for one week, to see how often we think of WORKS rather than GRACE.

5) Four days wasn’t nearly enough up in NoNJ. Now that I’m back, there are a lot of things I wish I had done while I was there. I think I needed two more days. Oh well, there’s always next year.

6) I meant to mention that when Denis got back from his Las Vegas trip a few weeks ago, his boss said he’d probably be sent out there again next year. And told Denis that I could come. VEGAS BABY!!!!

7) The weather for my craft market this weekend is supposed to be in the mid-70s. I’m hoping that’s cool enough for people to have interest in my blankets. We’ll see.

8. While four days wasn’t enough time to be in NoNJ, I’m happy to be back. Can’t wait to spread hugs and kisses to my husband and kids tonight when I get home.

9) I’m totally gonna dig out my “Xanadu” video tonight and watch the movie. Hee.

10) I’m 40 pages away from finish my book. I’ve been reading it FOREVER and while it is a good book, I can’t wait to have it finished. Book club is tomorrow night but I’m unable to go since Denis is leaving tomorrow for his own NYC trip.

Sounds like a great sermon. So happy to hear you had a good time. Sleep? What is that?
