I figured I’d to one massive general post about anything that popped in my head since it’s been such a busy day.
1) I love The Company. Seriously. We just had an Exec Asst meeting with one of the officers of the company and it was great. It wasn’t a typical admin meeting to discuss supplies, lunches or chron files. Instead it was to give us a heads up on some deals that were coming down the pike. And then the officer proceeded to go over the “Big Brother” policy that The Parent Company is trying to hand down. Apparently some bigwig doesn’t want company computers/phones/faxes/copiers used for ANYTHING personal – not a single thing at any time. The Company’s folks that attended that particular meeting said, “Forget it,” and The Officer told us just to be smart about our internet usage and not let it get in the way of our work. How awesome is THAT?
2) Denis and I have a lead on a couple plots of land in Fort Mill that look promising. My Fort Mill advisor, Christy, will be doing a drive-by of said lots to see what they are like from her perspective. The realtor involved said that a developer has expressed some interest in the land, which means it must be pretty decent. It’s on a cul-de-sac, which is nice. Perc test has already been done on at least one of the plots, with a 3-bedroom with bonus being approved. The realtor said we may be able to go to the county assessor and ask for an upgrade to 4-bedroom w/bonus. THAT would be awesome, since that’s exactly what I want!
3) CootieGirl received a bunch of princess costumes this past weekend in VA and has been dressing up every minute she can. Each morning this week she has begged to go as a princess to school. I think this Sunday I’ll let her dress up as a princess for church since she’s so desperate to be seen about town.
4) Amazon did right by me and the missing package was delivered yesterday (actually, they reshipped it). So this morning I turned around and returned the book I bought over the weekend and then shipped the other book via FedEx 3-day to my uncle’s house.
5) I loved the “Biggest Loser” finale that aired last night. Those folks looked AWESOME, especially Suzy. She even looked smaller than the female trainer at some point during the finale (although to be fair, the female trainer had a HORRIBLE dress on). If I could take three months off work to go lose weight on that show, I’d audition for it in a heartbeat.
6) My friend Mary gets married in three days. I wonder how she’s doing right about now?
7) We have no Christmas decorations up in our house yet. I think we’re going to wait until Sunday night after the kids go to bed. Denis has been cleaning up the front of the house so that the exterior stuff can get done. He’s already got half of those lights done.
8) We’ve finalized our menu for the White Elephant party, which now has 32 people in attendance, with two more outstanding that may come if they can find a babysitter. The menu will have a bunch of our staple hors d’oeurves and a couple new ones. The good news is that we plan on making the same amount we always do, but won’t have all the leftovers this year because we’ll have eight extra people in attendance!
9) We finally went back to work on our dining room ceiling tiles which have languished an in unfinished state for nine months. We have 95% of it done – the only section left is the small strip along one wall that requires about 2″ – 5″ of ceiling tile. Then we’ll caulk the edges to make them seamless against the molding. It looks great and I’m really pleased with how it turned out.
Wow! Ya’ll are smokin’!:clap::cheer:
