1) Kids were much better this morning. Still left late when a last minute tantrum began over shoes, but managed to get to work on time.
2) Last night CootieBoy drew on our expensive living room sofa with a Sharpie. Not happy. However, I’ve been told that Goo Gone will take it out, so we will be getting some of that and after a brief test run to make sure it won’t affect the microfiber, I’m hoping the Sharpie line comes out (it’s about 5 inches long).
3) Last night I was dreading coming to work today because of an issue that arose late in the afternoon. However, it resolved itself without any hassle – good thing, too, since my ONE YEAR REVIEW is next week.
4) I’m getting excited about the Blogathon this weekend. This year I’m participating with both of my blogs AND I’m taking on monitoring duties. It’s going to be very demanding, but the good news is that Sunday when it’s over I can sleep hard while Denis and the kids are at church.
5) I’m up to page 140 of the latest Harry Potter and I’m really liking it to far. I have read two pre-publish date theories on how it ends, and I find myself thinking about one of them in particular as I read and I think she’s spot on in her prediction (kudos, Jean!).
6) Anyone seen the commercials for “Flipping Out” on Bravo? It’s about an OCD guy who has a homeflipping business. It HAS to be fake, right? I mean, I watched the preview episode last night and it just screamed of “The Office” to me. Or maybe it was intentionally filmed that way? In any event, I’ll probably tune into the show a couple times if I can’t find verification of my suspicions online anywhere. And if I do find verification that it’s fake, I’ll probably still tune in.
7) Haven’t painted at all this week. The dining room is so nice and neat I hate to break out my supplies and muck it up again! Maybe I’ll do some painting in the late hours of the Blogathon to help the time pass (not that I’ll need help given the amount of work to be done during the event).
8. Someone new linked to Cootiehog yesterday and it showed up in my trackbacks. When I clicked over to the blog to see what it was all about, I noticed that they called this site Cootie Hot. Made me laugh.
9) I’ll be driving up to NoVA next weekend to help my sister and her husband move. They got an eviction notice from their landlord – apparently he’s moving back into town and wants the place back. But the great news is that they found an even BETTER place for about the same rent, although with a longer commute. Next weekend is moving weekend so I’m driving up after work on Friday to help them move on Saturday.
10) I just remembered that Denis and I watched a movie that I never reviewed here. It was called “A Scanner Darkly” and starred computer cartoon versions of Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson, and Winona Ryder. Great cartoony effects highlighted this film adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s novel, but I didn’t like the movie itself that much. Too weird for my taste.
I’ll try to tune in on occasion to support your Blogathoning efforts.
Thanks for coming to help us move. I’m both dreading it and looking forward to it, if that makes sense.
I started HP, but it’s slow going because I really don’t have the time to read right now. I’m only about 20 pages in, but I’m liking it and it’s killing me that I can’t just tuck into it.
I’ve seen the ads for Flipping Out. What I wonder is how many Out shows Bravo plans to go. They should change the name of Top Chef to Cooking Out or something.
Why on earth did CootieBoy have a Sharpie anywhere near the living room? OUCH!
Just saw Goo Gone at Home Depot yesterday and wondered what it would have
been used for.
Saw the ads for FLIPPING OUT! Looked so stupid but your sister was very
Clever in renaming of Top Chef. LOL
As for the Cootie HOT thing… Hmmm makes me wonder… I will have an
offline discussion about my theory on this with you.
YAY for me on catching up with Cootiehog two weeks running.. WEWT!
Ace – the kids were coloring and somehow Sharpies become their “crayon of choice” and CootieBoy drew on the couch before Denis realized what they were coloring with. He promptly took away the Sharpies but didn’t see that CootieBoy had drawn on the sofa – I saw it later when I was cleaning up and (falsely) accused CootieGirl (since she was the only one I saw coloring in that room when I got home).
I work in a library, and we go through a lot of Goo Gone. Its stench has the power of 5000 Sharpies, and you will worry that you are just making the situation worse by rubbing pine sap into your possessions. But the stuff works like a charm. Have never tried it on anything but books, though.
The poor, poor couch ๐ I’ve heard good things about Goo Gone.. I do know that Spot Shot gets pet “accidents” out of our 13 year old carpeting, but if you try that, be careful with it and do a test somewhere that isn’t really visible.
And you KNOW they were only saying what we already know, that you are hot, and not just a cootie ๐
