Mindless Minutiae

I’m up to 2,482 songs on my MP3 player. That contains any artists I like from A – Collins as well as about 150 other CDs that were in a multi-cd player. Starting tonight I’ll work on CD wallet #2, which holds Collins – F, I believe.

My desk is still relatively empty today at work. I’m very happy about that. I feared I’d come in to find more piles of tapes and folders after spending most of Friday getting it cleared off. Skater is back from his mini-vaca and has given me light work today which has been much nicer than the piles and piles of edits from last week.

Today I specifically avoided going to Weight Watchers. I have my reasons. PMS being the least of them.

I dyed my hair this weekend. My roots were getting a bit long, so I opted to color and went for a slightly darker red shade. It’s not overly dramatic (in fact, only two co-workers have said anything about it today), but it’s an improvement.

I managed to find a couple of my winter sweaters this weekend, but still can’t find most of them. We do have two large suitcases in the garage but I doubt I packed clothes in them. Still, I plan on pulling those out tonight to see what’s in and whether I can find anymore of my winter clothes. With temps in the upper 30s most mornings nowadays, they would be handy.

CootieGirl and CootieBoy, who certainly have their “off” days, are generally two pretty fun kids. This weekend as I put CootieBoy to bed, he kept testing what hurts me. He’d poke me in the neck and ask, “Hurt, Mommy?” I’d say no, and he’d poke me harder. “Hurt, Mommy?” I’d say yes, and he’d rub the sore spot and say, “Sorry, Mommy.” Then he’d poke my face, “Hurt, Mommy?” and so on and so forth, finding various areas around my face and shoulders to poke. CootieGirl, on the other hand, is very affectionate and I love that. She is very free about telling me she loves me all the time. I soak it up now, knowing that around age 13 she won’t be so free about it.

I vacuumed my car this weekend. I went over to the local carwash place to use their vacuum, but found it would only take quarters. I had to trade dimes and nickels with a guy there, and was able to vacuum my car. While cleaning it out I found two sippy cups (which I feared opening), Denis’ real estate name badge (that he reordered because he couldn’t find it), a really nice pen, a CD, a quarter (figures), and some makeup brushes (yes, I put on my makeup for work in the car).

We had visitors over for dinner on Friday night – our friends MR & KR are possibly moving down here to the Charlotte area and we REALLY hope they come. They were here this weekend to do an in-person interview (after three phone interviews) as well as to show off MR’s teaching skillz for the position. They are a great couple and it would be nice to have them in town.

I suppose that’s it for today’s Mindless Minutiae.
