Phew! Where does the time go? Is it really already Wednesday?
Denis’ birthday went well. We enjoyed a quiet dinner and some cake, followed by presents. He got lots of food-related stuff. A couple cookbooks, some Baconnaise (yes, that’s bacon and mayo mixed together), a bacon t-shirt (no, not a shirt made from bacon), a poffertje pan (which we can’t wait to try out – we LOVED the poffertjes we had in Amsterdam ten years ago), and a couple other things. All in all, a nice quiet birthday for Denis.
I landed a freelance gig today, which I’m very excited about. It will last a week and the pay is nice. I’m glad that I’m continuing to land projects at my freelancing website. It is very encouraging and if all continues to go as it has then I may be able to turn this into a very profitable at-home job once the kids are back in school in the fall. Right now it’s limiting since I have CB at home with me every day, but when they are back in school I’m very hopeful about my earning prospects.
Have seen several movies lately. Two stand out in my memory. “Tropic Thunder” was funny, although Denis never got into it. It took me a while to get into it as well, but it was well done. I also really liked “Changeling” starring Angelina Jolie. Clint Eastwood makes fantastic movies, y’all. Seriously good.
I’ve been thinking of moving Tropic Thunder up on the queue. You think Beau would like it?
Uh…no. There’s some inappropriate humor that Beau probably wouldn’t like.
That’s what I figured. I’ll have to get it now so that I can watch it on maternity leave one day while he’s at Wegmans or something.
