It’s 2008. Time to talk dieting, losing weight, getting fit. I know, by February most people have long since forgotten about dieting and exercise. However, with my Year in 30 Days mission, I’m really hopeful that I’ll lose 30 pounds by the time my family goes to Disney in late May. Heck, even 20 pounds would be awesome before that trip.
One problem that Denis and I have is that with the kids being picky eaters, and with me not getting home until 6:30 p.m., it can be hard to sit down and have a healthy meal. Denis does his best – he’s an excellent cook. But when the kids are whining and wanting eggs and toast, and I’ve called to say I’m running late, it really takes the fun out of cooking a good meal.
And forget about frozen entrees. Sure, they are handy for lunch when you only have 15 minutes before you have to be back at your desk – but let’s be honest – most of those frozen entrees are pretty darn nasty (do you want me to name a few – because that’s easy).
Enter Chefs Diet Delivery, a service that delivers wonderfully healthy food, right to your door. It uses the Zone Diet as it’s platform, and for prices starting at $14.95 per day you are given two meals and two snacks. Prices go up if you opt to have more per day. Looking at the menu on their site it looks as though their entrees are much more varied than what’s in the local grocery store’s freezer section. Lobster ravioli anyone? Grilled rack of baby lamb with ratatouille parmesan and minted au jus? Or how about shrimp and scallop dijonaise over saffron rice? It sounds delish, doesn’t it?
