I neglected to post earlier about the front of our house. Denis spent some time this morning laying down the new rubber mulch in the square patch near our front door. It looks AWESOME and I can’t wait to finish the rest of it in the coming months. It looks so nice compared to the patch of dirt that was there once we removed the ivy. It’s a rich browny red color and I LOVE IT. The fact that it will always look like that no matter how many years go by make the investment absolutely worth it. It’s lovely.
Also. Our new Kenmore Progressive Bagless Upright with Inteli-Clean System vacuum? WONDERFUL. Even better? She’s purple. I may have to give her a name, she is so lovely. It has a dirt sensor on it. When it starts over a spot, the sensor will turn red if it’s really dirty, orange if sort of dirty, and green when clean. Sure enough, Denis would leave it in a spot for a few seconds and we’d watch it go from red to green as the carpet cleaned. Go to another section, wait maybe 5 seconds for it to go from orange to green. It was VERY cool. Denis said after cleaning the upstairs carpets he had to empty out the canister, it pulled up that much junk from the carpets. THAT’S AWESOME and obviously our old vac wasn’t doing an effective job at cleaning anything other than the big bits that ended up on the carpet (Cooper the Dog is notorious for having bark from the back yard catch a ride in his fur and dispense itself all over the house). If you want to switch between the upright vac to the tools, all you do is press a button on the handle and you are done. No more bending over to flip the switch on the base of the vacuum. I know you laugh when you read that, but those of you who have uprights know what I’m talking about. I only used it for a couple minutes, but I’ll be interested to see what other features it has. But I’m starting to think I’m glad I didn’t receive a Dyson, after all.
I am so glad you like it!
It’s not very heavy?
Jean, not at all. I was actually surprised by how light it is.
I love our vacuum, but it’s heavy and hard to move unless it’s on. But when it’s on, I love – self-propelled and sometimes it pulls me along.
I like the idea of the dirt sensor. Maybe that will entice the kids when they’re old enough to help with chores.
