Well, I certainly came close on the Kentucky Derby, didn’t I? Lion Heart led all the way to the final turn but ended up fading out fast as Smarty Jones came up on his tail in the last stretch. And Imperialism – despite the lackluster start he made up some AMAZING ground in the last half of the race and went from 17th place to 3rd! He probably could have won if he had had a better start and not ended up in a back cluster of horses. Smarty Jones benefited from a nice clean open, which is the only way he was able to stick with Lion Heart and take it in the end.
Either way, I made back my $18 investment, and will take home about $30. Better than losing it all!! It’s my first time winning anything on Kentucky Derby, so I’m quite pleased.
