1) Yo Gabba Gabba! rules our house for an hour every night. When they get home from daycare, CootieGirl and CootieBoy ask to see an episode (I have nine episodes Tivo’d). I told Denis that CootieBoy is a musical savant – he hears simple songs only one time and the second time it comes on he sings all the words. The YGG songs are repetitive, sure, but he learns them quickly and then recalls them fully several hours later. Anyway, the kids will stand in front of the tv singing and dancing through both episodes that I let them watch.
2) CG and CB also love playing with the two boys who moved in behind us. Every day last week as soon as we arrived home from daycare they’d run to the back door to see if the boys were in their backyard, and would get quite sad when no one was to be seen. Tonight they spent about 30 minutes jumping on the trampoline and did not want to come in for dinner.
3) Yesterday I asked CG to clean up her room. Normally this would be greeted with protests or her ignoring me. But instead she chirped, “Okay, Mommy!” and went upstairs and cleaned her entire room. No bribes, no nagging, no helping. She did it all by herself without complaint. She called me when she was done so I could inspect, and was very proud of herself on the good job she had done. And I was so proud of her that I gave her about a dozen hugs and kisses and then told her she’d get a dollar to put in her bank. She was positively thrilled (both with the hugs and kisses AND the dollar for her bank).
