So every year we throw a big party at our house. We average about 25 people every year. This year we had an issue with the date and a good portion of our regulars were unable to come. However, the “fringe” people – those you invite knowing they most likely won’t come – have all said yes. We’re up to 31 people attending the party, with another 23 people yet to reply. Of those 23 people, I think another four will come to the party and just not respond.
So we’re looking at 35 people crammed into my tiny house for the party in a couple weeks.
The good news? Every year we end up making WAY too much food, but this year it might end up being the perfect amount!
Unfortunately, the last two years, I have not been able to attend because I had something planned on that day. I did not get the invite this year, I guess because you assume that I do not want to come anymore (not the truth). But alas, again this year, I have a wedding, so I would not have been able to come. The food has always been great as well as the company. I am sure all in attendance will have a blast. Wonder what kind of “gifts” will be under the tree this year. I actually liked my Mr. Hanky of years ago!

I’m sad that we’re going to have to miss it this year. I’ve told Beau that we are definitely going next year, though.
Lila, it was purely neglect that kept you off the list – the list was over 60 people this year, and your email probably just didn’t get pasted over into the Yahoo Evite that we used this year. Hopefully next year you’ll be able to come!
Jen – yes, definitely plan for next year. We’re announcing the date of next year’s party the week after this year’s, so there are no excuses!
