It’s Back!

Are you excited as I am that “Hell’s Kitchen” is back on the air? I am! I love my Gordon Ramsay!

Sadly, I missed the first episode, but that’s okay – usually that’s just an introduction of the aspiring chefs, so no big deal.

I have loved every season of the show. One of my favorite parts is when they get down to the final two where the finalists get to redo the entire restaurant and create the kind of restaurant THEY envision owning. Usually a huge screen comes down to divide the restaurant in half, and then the finalists work with designers to complete redo their side. I love seeing their vision come together and it is rare that the design makes me cringe.

I always wonder where they get the furniture for those restaurants. I mean, the finalists change not just the colors or tableware, but also the booths, the tables, the chairs – everything. I have to think that they contract out for the custom furniture to be brought in. I can’t remember which contestant it was, but I think one of them got restaurant wrought iron furniture for her demo restaurant which I thought was kind of weird, but it worked because in the end she had a very quirky modern restaurant and the wrought iron fit right in. Man I wish I could remember who that was. Anyway, that’s where companies like Contract Furniture come in handy. Same goes for shows like “Top Chef,” where restaurant decor and presentation can be just as important as the flavor in the food.
