Four years ago today, about this time, I was in such miserable pain and suffering that I swore she wasn’t worth it and that I would never do it again.
My precious daughter turned four years old this morning at 3:21 a.m. I didn’t wake her up to wish her a happy birthday, despite being up at that time (thanks to CootieBoy kicking me in the head (yes, he slept in our bed last night)).
Last night I wondered if she’d even see her fourth birthday since she was acting up and ticking me off before bedtime. At some point I was so infuriated that I yelled, “That’s it! No presents tomorrow!” which, of course, set off copious crying and great gnashing of teeth. However, she’s so darn cute that this morning I let her open two of her presents (a coloring book and a Disney Princess lunchbox). She was overjoyed with both items (begged to take them to school) and doesn’t even know she’ll be getting more presents tonight (a couple DVDs) and her big present on Thursday (her new bike). CootieBoy was furious that he didn’t get birthday gifts and threw a tantrum this morning, but CootieGirl was kind enough to let him play with her new things this morning, which appeased him a bit.
And in honor of turning four today, she got dressed entirely by herself from head to toe with no assistance from me (usually she at least asks for help with her socks and shoes).
We took cupcakes to school this morning which she will share with her classroom at lunchtime. And I also bought cupcakes for the family to have tonight at home by ourselves. It’ll be a quiet night since Denis is out of town.
Hard to believe it’s been 4 years already!
A gift should arrive for her today from us.
So glad she like the lunch box. We’ll call tonight to talk with our favorite granddaughter. 😉
A blessed, happy bd to CootieGirl. g
Jen, yes, we did get an Amazon box – she’ll be very happy to see it!
