Mr. BIL was out most of the morning (he only got in about 15 minutes ago). So I got a lot done while he was out at his meeting. The trick will be getting him to finalize the four things I accomplished this morning. Fortunately two of the projects have VERY little that needs to be checked, so I should be able to get those out by lunchtime if I push him a little. We’ll see.
In other news, I missed last night’s finale of “Heroes”, which I will watch tonight. The kids went to bed late (around 8:30 p.m.) and then I got to work on a newsletter for my mom’s company. Now that she has a new logo she wants the newsletter to match. I loved getting back into InDesign and fortunately didn’t lose too much of my knowledge in the last year since I used it. It only took me two hours to come up with a first draft. I showed it to Denis and together we came up with a few more ideas as to how to tweak it further, so I’ll be doing those tonight during the American Idol final performance night.
I’m glad we’re going into summer break for TV. I’ve been really letting my Netflix slack and right now I’m “spending” more per-movie than I probably ever have in my entire 3+ year membership (and by spending I mean that the cost of Netflix each month averaged by the number of movies watch. For instance, my membership is $15.89 per month. If I only watch four movies in a month, then I’ve effectively “spent” almost $4 per movie for the membership. If I watch 8 movies in a month, then I’ve spent about $2 per movie, which is much better!). I’ll make up for it this summer, I’m sure, and bring my annual average cost per movie down to a more manageable level. Unless I get sucked into Big Brother as much as I did last summer (All Stars online, baby!!!).
Okay, let me get back to work before I get carried away with more TV talk.
Update at 12:14 p.m. – even better! I got Mr. BIL to sign off on THREE things before he went to lunch. So we’re down to ONE project that needs to get done by the end of the day! That so rocks I can’t even tell you enough. I’m now at a good break point so I’m going to run and get some lunch. This morning I went out to the freezer to grab a frozen entree to bring in, and saw there were none in there. However, on the drive into work I remembered that the frozen entrees are in the garage REFRIGERATOR freezer, not the deep freezer. So tomorrow I’ll have to bring in some lunches to finish out the week. Today: BBQ again. What can I say – I’m a creature of habit.
We got into so many shows that NETFLIX became non-cost
effective big time so I cancelled our account. It is an
awesome program, though, so I’ll probably resubscribe at
least for the summer. Please post your comments on
“Memoirs of a Geisha” when you have the chance to watch
it–that is one I’ve been interested in seeing.
I did reduce our membership sometime last year, from 3 movies at one time to 2 movies. That was in response to watching less movies after we had CootieBoy. I’m fine with two movies at a time (one from my list, one from Denis’, and don’t see upping that again anytime in the future.
That’s a very diplomatic way to handle it. My husband hasn’t been
active in the movie selection with us, so of course there is much
complaining if too many Chick Flicks are in the queue! 🙂
