Okay, Imus got railroaded. Doesn’t mean he was right in saying what he said, but the punishment doesn’t fit the crime. Shouldn’t we muzzle Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for all the slurs they’ve made over time and never apologized for? This is George Bush’s America. Let’s look forward.
What might happen is Imus will get paid off some on the remainder of his contract which he won’t need to fullfill, then he’ll go to satellite radio (increase his listenership from the curiousity seekers) where he’ll make more money than he was making at CBS and the radio station will be begging to have him back. Might be the best thing that ever happened to him.
Can someone lead a boycott against CBS radio and MSNBC and their sponsors for firing Imus like Sharpton was going to do before they fired Imus? Let’s see if that causes Proctor and Gamble and the other sponsors to freak and CBS to get on their knees.
Too bad we can’t get this kind of quick action in getting our troops home from Iraq by boycotting the government.
Okay, I’ll step off my soapbox.
Guess it had to happen, I agree with Denis!
I’m no fan of Imus, and he was completely
wrong to have said what he did, but this situation
is totally ridiculous. So an arrogant talk show
host said something inappropriate. Let it go already!
