It’s 3:51 a.m. and I’m wide awake. I just gave CootieBoy his middle of the night bottle (he finished at 3:30 a.m.). I tried to go back to sleep but CootieGirl has pretty much taken over the full-size bed we are sharing. I knew that would happen. She is LAID OUT. And yes, a couple times she did smack me in the face in her sleep – if she had been awake she would have giggled.
The drive to VA was uneventful. I made great time (exactly 4 1/2 hours) and would have been there quicker if there hadn’t been construction on I-95 and I didn’t stop four times to give CootieGirl back the sippy cup of milk that she kept dropping. CootieBoy slept almost the whole way – he woke up right as we hit Rte 66 and fussed for the thirty minutes it took to get to my parents’ house. Since CootieGirl had only slept 45 minutes at that point, she upped the ante by fussing as well. Nothing like two crying kids when you are trapped in a car. No amount of Wiggles over the stereo would help.
Okay, so it’s 3:55 a.m. now so I’m going to try and make some space for myself in the bed. Wish me luck!
