Okay, the more I see the commercials for ABC’s The Rerun Show the more I can’t wait for it to begin airing in July. I hope it’s wildly successful because the premise is fantastic:
Picture it as though it’s a SNL skit gone amok. Up-and-coming actors re-enact scenes from classic sitcoms – with a contemporary twist. All your favorite sitcom characters come back from TV Land. Tootie and Natalie, Arnold and Willis, George Jefferson, Archie Bunker and Meathead. This could really become a hit show as they skewer ALL sitcoms from the past – ranging from I Love Lucy and Leave It To Beaver to Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley. I wouldn’t even mind if they did The Cosby Show and Cheers. But specifically, I know the show wants to show the absurdity of the 1970s sitcom – and it’s going to be glorious!
