I Made It To Work

I made it to work – only 45 minutes late. Denis arrived home just as I hit “Publish” on that post about being stuck. It took him a few minutes but he eventually got the garage door to open manually. I had no idea but the garage lock keys were hidden in the garage – NO IDEA where they were, but Denis pretty much walked up and pulled the set off the wall. Without that, we wouldn’t have been able to open the door manually even if we wanted to. So I’m glad he knew where those keys were (one of which is now on my keychain).

So we’re back to parking outside since we don’t want to spend the money to fix the garage door opener right now. Our goal was to replace the whole thing in the next year or two anyway, so I’d rather not dump money into fixing it if we don’t have to. If worse comes to worse and I can’t stand parking outside in the winter, I’ll just get used to opening and shutting the door manually now that we know how to do it.

The kids got to daycare just as breakfast was being served, but they enjoyed those few extra moments of watching Mickey Mouse and the added treat of seeing Daddy again in the morning.

I saw an ad in the penny savers or whatever those ads are called that keep getting mailed to our house for a free quote on a garage door fix. Don’t remember anything more than that, so I’ll have to keep an eye out for the next one we get. I would prefer we get it fixed sooner rather than later. I don’t anyone (not me) filling up the garage with junk again. LOL
