Last night I got a call on my cellphone from a number I didn’t recognize. I answered anyway, out of curiosity.
“Hi, this is Keith from BlueHost. I’m calling to verify that I have the spelling of your address correct.”
“Wha…?” I asked, not sure I heard correctly. “What are you calling from?”
“From BlueHost, your web hosting service. You had two signups on your affiliate account, and so we want to send you a check for $130. However, as I was finalizing the check I saw a typo in your address and just want to verify that address. Are you at 123 American Way Drive (obviously that’s not my address, freaks)?”
“Yep. Did you say $130?”
“Yes, ma’am. $130. Your address name is missing the “c” in American – that’s why I called because I know Amerian probably wasn’t right. I’ll fix that up and we’ll get that check out to you tomorrow.”
“Well, thanks! And you can call me ANYtime you want if you’re going to send me $130 checks!”
He laughed, wished me a good night, and we hung up.
$130 bucks! THAT ROCKS!!!
