So now that it’s official that I’m not going to continue working for The Company after next Wednesday I’m being SWAMPED with work. I briefly debated giving Mr. Russell a full month’s notice in order to help him out, and I’m glad I didn’t because I’m positive it would be so much worse if I had told him a full month in advance.
He is literally throwing things at me that he wants done before I leave. All of a sudden a stack of backdated call reports landed on my desk. A stack of business cards that needs to be added to the database. A request to update all of our prospect sheets. A large expense report. A request for multiple printouts of various documents so that he has backups. I spent the majority of my day today updating a very large database that Mr. Professor is in charge of. I worked with an older copy to come up with my cold-calling list and needed to input all of my updated info into the main database. It took me five hours today.
And besides that, Mr. Banderas told his admin to have me sit down with her again to teach her the administrative side of SalesLogix before I go. He has requested an hour a day until I leave. I explained to her that the best route would be to contact our training group and have them come in one day to sit with her for an entire day and go through it, since their trainers have a specific method (and a very effective one) for training people on the administrative part of SalesLogix and that any training *I* would provide would be confusing, disjointed and not helpful at all. Mr. Banderas said that they’d get the trainer in after I leave, but until then for us to meet nonetheless. That’s ridiculous and a complete waste of BOTH admins’ time. I told the admin that I’d give her 30 minutes tomorrow and after that I’m telling her boss that I’m unavailable and that he needs to just pay to bring in the trainer.
And what’s worse? It’s only 4 p.m. and I still have another hour to try and get through some of the stacks of stuff piled on my desk.
Sounds like they’re panicking about losing you!! đŸ™‚
