I’ve been delaying it, but this morning I had to mention to CootieGirl and CootieBoy that if they didn’t shape up, I’d have to call Santa to tell him to put them on the “Naughty List.” CootieGirl was horrified at the thought – I could see her little mind swirling in fear. I explained that Santa likes parents to call him every night to keep him up to date on children’s daily activities.
Denis was more hardcore. A few minutes later CootieGirl began whining about something and he said, “That’s it – no Christmas presents for you this year!”
Wow – Daddy circumvented Santa!!
In other news, we are still potty-training CootieBoy. He has been very hit or miss – a few times over the weekend he specifically asked to go potty, other times he just did his thing while standing there. This morning, however, was hilarious. He delayed getting up from bed, so that by the time he DID get to the potty he REALLY had to go. However, Daddy went first (despite having the bladder control that CootieBoy has yet to master), and in doing so, it caused CootieBoy to pee in his pull-up. When Denis got CB all ready to go potty, he tried and tried and then got VERY upset because nothing would go in the potty. He cried, “I hafta go potty!” because he knew he was supposed to go in the potty, but it was too late, and he didn’t seem to understand it. So he stood, and stood, and stood, and continued to cry when nothing would come out.
The whole “calling santa every night” pretty much squashes the song “SantaClause is Coming to Town”

The Santa thing is hilarious and I can’t wait to employ that tactic with Jesse. But I may do it all year and include the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy. Anybody get missed in the imaginary world of gift/money giving?
