I’m back at work today and am still having a great time. This morning’s commute was a bit more crowded – school is officially back in session (and that increases traffic since no one is on vacation anymore). Everyone was so gracious this morning about my being out yesterday – and I honestly don’t think it was in their heads to wonder if I was *really* sick (which I was, believe me).
At about 9:15 a.m. I forgot that there was a staff meeting at 8:30 a.m. – and when I emailed HR to apologize for missing it, she laughed it off saying, “Oh, I figured you wouldn’t be there since you were out yesterday. No biggie!”
Anyway, just now I made a blunder for Skater (I have to come up with names for my bosses here, so one will be Skater since he used to be a pro skateboarder) and he couldn’t have been nicer about it. I had to contact IT to delete some documents that I shouldn’t have created and he in turn emailed IT to apologize for not giving me better instructions in the first place! What boss DOES that?
In other news, I got my personal cables back from The Company that I accidently left behind and now have music at my desk. I was going crazy with no music, so I’m happy about that. I also have my PDF charger plug back and can now charge my PDA at work. I need to check and see if it’s okay for me to load my PDA software on this machine – if it is I’ll do that so I can actually use my PDA more frequently like I did before I went to The Company last summer.
