I just found out that when CootieGirl starts kindergarten in the fall she’ll need to be at school by 7:15 a.m.
People, I currently get up at 7:30 a.m. Which means I need to be UP and READY TO GO with my daughter by 7:00 a.m. in order for her to be in the cafeteria for lunch ontime at 7:15 a.m. That’s…painful. I’ve decided that I don’t want her to ride the school bus after all – it’s a two-seat ride since she will be bussed to a different school due to overcrowding and the bus route has a transfer in the middle of it. It’s only for next year, since they plan on opening two new elementary schools in our area in 2009. At that point I’ll let her ride the bus. But not when it’s requires a transfer.
What it means:
1. I’ll get up at 6:30 a.m. (which is when Denis normally gets up) and get CG ready for school, leave by 7:00 a.m.
2. Drive CG to school while Denis stays home finishes getting ready for work and gets CB up and ready for preschool
3. I get home by 7:30 a.m. (which is my normal wake-up time), at which time Denis leaves for work
4. I proceed to get MYSELF ready for work and leave by 8:15 a.m. with CB to take him to daycare
That seems to be the schedule that makes the most sense. Since Denis typically *leaves* for work at 7:40 a.m., it makes no sense for him to take CG to school since that would mean he’s getting to work super-early for no reason.
I’m so NOT a morning person.
In other news, I read today that we need to take CG with us to registration to do some preliminary testing in preparation for entering kindergarten. I’m very excited.
I’m not one of those moms who will cry when she goes off the school. At least, I don’t think I am. I think it’s awesome that this new adventure will start for her, and given how well she adapted this morning going to the new preschool, I know that the first night after kindergarten she’s gonna talk my ear off telling me stories of everything she did that day.
I get up early. I can take her to school before I go to work in the morning. This way you only need to deal with Cootieboy. As long as you help get her ready, I don’t mind dropping her off.
I’m not a morning person, either. I feel for you. But it looks like CootieHusband is going to be a big help!! Lucky you!
