I had a good nap yesterday when I got home – it was obviously much needed since I basically passed out when I laid down. However, I still have this sinus headache that won’t stop, and congestion. So I’m staying home again today. I have to say I DO feel bad for staying home – I feel like I COULD go to work, but I know I probably SHOULDN’T – so it results in mixed feelings about being home.
I just got a call from the office – Mr. BIL is looking for some documents. It made me feel a bit helpless as I spoke to the admin to see if she could find them, and I was tempted to say, “You know what? I’ll just come in.” But I didn’t because I know I NEED to stay home today.
In other news – I realized this morning that our new daycare is NOT $200 more each month. Try $450 more EACH MONTH for the next six months. OUCH. I’m not saving THAT much on groceries so this is a total faith move to this preschool. Good thing we’re getting a tax refund and rebate check in a couple months. I thought that might go towards paying off the van, but instead it’ll go into our checking account and cover daycare for the next six months until CootieGirl goes to kindergarten and takes that monthly extra down to only $80 more than we’re paying now.
Not sure where you are coming up with the math, but the figure you sent me yesterday is exactly $63 more per week for the two kids. Times 52, divided by 12 and you come up with $273 more per month than what we are paying now. Not sure where the $450 figure is coming from, unless the figure you emailed me yesterday is only for one child and not both of them. Then that’s more like an extra $1672 per month over what we are payiing now, which doesn’t make any sense.
We’re currently paying $260/wk. The new place will be $373/week. That’s $113 more EACH WEEK than we are paying now. x4 = $452 more each month than we’re paying now. Once CG starts kindergarten we’ll be back down to paying $250/week.
That’s the problem. You emailed me that we would be paying $323/week. I assume what you emailed me is incorrect. Or maybe this number is. Hope this is the wrong figure.
And it’s actualy more like an extra $490/month. Oh, well.
Okay, no no no – I’m wrong. I’m wrong. He’s $175/week, she’s $165/week. That’s $340, but she qualifies for a 10% discount, so it goes down to $323 per week. Phew. I don’t know how I got that 2 switched to a 7 in my head, but I was freaking out!
You kids… LOL
That’s great that she qualifies for a %10 discount. Not sure why that is on top of the $10 discount she is already getting but that’s great. And yes, it’s only an extra $273 per month. The Democratic-led-Congress’s tax refund should cover that for about a half a year. Throw in a small tax refund this year and we may have that covered for the rest of the entire year. (I’m not expecting a big tax refund like we normally get. We don’t pay huge deductible property taxes like we used to in NJ anymore and I don’t have all the write-offs I used to have as a Realtor. But I hope we can get something back in taxes this year and not have to pay anything.)
The 10% is the sibling discount that families with multiple children get. And the $10 cheaper tuition is because the older you get the less “work” the child requires.
Coolie. Double discount. Sounds good.
We have to think about the Anne Springs after school program once the girl starts kindergarten. Someone at my office was talking to me about it and our neighbor behind us mentioned it to me as well.
Speaking of kindergarten, we need to enroll her on March 6 or 7th. I have to check the website to find out for sure.
