I’ve been surfing my subdivision’s HOA website and I’ve determined that it is in need of repair. Major repair. It is incredibly out of date (I think the last time it was updated was 2003). And it doesn’t seem as though the community really uses it as well as it could be used – the message board is used maybe once a month and the announcements board is pathetic.
*sigh* I’ve emailed the newsletter person and the website person to find out what they do about updates. I have a feeling that the word “volunteer” will be in my future somewhere.
I’ve been bitching about our HOA’s monthly “newsletter/newspaper/finger-wagging forum” for the entire five years we’ve lived here. I thought about griping to the editor one time, but figured I’d wind up in charge of the damn thing.
We also heard our website was being “reintroduced” at the end of the year – like yours, I don’t think ours has been updated in the last two years. I really don’t need to see the pool schedule from ’04.
Stacy – the funny thing is that the web guy responded to my email and said, “It gets updated every couple of days.”
Uh…it does?
I wrote him back and told him that in the new year I’d be happy to help with the website, and also planned on volunteering to help with the newsletter. I know I’m probably going to be kicking myself by April, but we’ll see what happens.
Doesn’t sound like this guy wants much help to me.
