Yesterday I took CootieBoy out for some putt-putt golf. We had a good time, and he made me laugh on several occasions.
“Playing golf” in CB’s eyes means walking up to the whole, placing the ball about six inches away, and then tapping it in. Sometimes it takes one tap, others it takes two. But playing this way he was pretty much under par the entire game.
During the first game we got to about hole 6 and suddenly he turned to me and said, “Mommy – I hafta pray! Close your eyes!” I closed my eyes and heard him mumbling for a few seconds before finishing with a rousing “AMEN!” He then tapped the ball into the hole. “I got it in, Mama! It worked!” *lol*
After putt-putt we headed over to Sonic for milkshakes. He had to go potty so we went inside to the bathrooms. After he was done and washed up we were walking back outside and he said, “Mama, I love you!” which made one of the nearby Sonic girls say, “Aw, that’s so sweet!”
“He only said it because you are around – he knows when to be cute in front of pretty girls.”
The girl laughed and said, “Well, it worked!”
Once outside, I ordered food for us to share, and as we sat there enjoying french fries and chicken poppers, he turned to me and said, “Mama, I had fun playing putt-putt with you.”
“Aw, thanks, buddy.”
*pause*
“Mama, now you have to say it back to me.”
I tell ya – the kid makes me laugh everyday.
