Great Night of TV

Okay, so much to wade through regarding last night’s Must See TV.

Will and Grace: I haven’t watched this show in about three years because the jokes got old and the characters became caricatures. However, I did catch last night’s episode involving a sing-along viewing of “Sound of Music” and I howled with laughter. When it repeats, I will Tivo it and keep it.

Four Kings: The much-hyped premiere of the new Seth Green comedy. Let’s start off by saying this: ALL PILOT EPISODES ARE BAD. If you look at the pilot episode of “Friends” you’ll see what I’m saying. That episode was BAD. Four Kings? It was average. Seth Green is comedy gold – I love him and in my eyes he can do no wrong. The other guys are pretty interchangeable, but I’m willing to give the show a chance.

My Name Is Earl: I love this show and last night’s episode was great, with Randy taking over the list for a short time to make up for ruining Earl’s experience at camp when they were kids. Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee are great together and if you haven’t seen this show yet, you are crazy in the head.

The Office: My most eager-awaited show of the night. “Booze Cruise” had the folks of Dunder Mifflin going on a harbor cruise for a combination party and motivational meeting. The results? Hilarious. The direction of this particular episode seemed much different than in the past – one particularly important scene between Pam and Jim seemed less “documentary” to me and more like just a regular show. Also, Michael was too nice in this episode – he needs to get his Season One snark back. Season One Michael could suck the life out of a room, but Season Two Michael is too human. As for Pam and Jim? They are my favorite couple on tv, and last night’s episode was torturous.

Dancing With The Stars: There’s nothing worse than men that can’t dance (sorry, Denis, but it’s true). Even worse? Men who can’t dance participating in a live dance competition. But high marks go to the ESPN sportsanchor (Kenny?) for giving it his all – his enthusiasm alone should keep him in the competition. Master P was downright awful – he basically just stood there while his partner danced around him. I hope he goes home.

Project Runway: We had this on Tivo and watched it last night. It was the episode where they designed a party dress for Nicky Hilton. Santino officially gets on my nerves because he’s such a petulant baby. Marla deserved to go home for her copy of the Chloe dress, but instead they sent Guadalupe. Sure, G’s dress was hideous, but lack of creativity should be sent home before awful avant-garde fashion.

Nothing to apologize for. I never claimed I could dance. I’ve never wanted to dance. I never ask to dance. In fact, if anyone asked me to dance, including you, I always say no, I can’t dance. I don’t like it, and I’m very happy being a wallflower. Up with Wallflowers! Hey whatever happened to the band The Wallflowers? You can dance for the both of us. I’ve never stopped you from going out with your friends and dancing. I’d rather stay home and play D&D. Just kidding, I’d be watching sports, I’m sure.

Are you going to watch Book of Daniel tonight? I’m anxious to hear what people think of it.

Yes, I was going to Tivo “The Book of Daniel” and see what’s it’s like. I’m a big Aiden Quinn fan.
