It’s Sunday, April 13, and I’m very tired. Why? you ask. Because I got no sleep last night, that’s why. I’m so over this pregnancy. Last night I was awakened once an hour because I 1) had heartburn, 2) had a sore back, 3) needed to flip over, 4) had cats wanting to be petted, 5) had to pee or 6) just couldn’t sleep. All told I think I got 3 hours of sleep. NOT a good night.
And besides that, when I was awake I kept willing myself to go into labor RIGHT THEN so that I wouldn’t have to be pregnant anymore. I don’t want to be induced, but I think I may ask my doctor on Tuesday to help get things started – strip my membranes or something.
I realize I’m not fully “due” for another two weeks, but the baby is considered full-term at this point so I’m ready for it to be over. I really don’t think I can go another 2-4 weeks. I’m totally serious.
I am Christy’s husband. If you really want to go into labor right now you can go four wheeling and then go walking in the mall for about 5 hours then you should be ready .(It worked for my first wife).Good luck we hope you have a very healthy baby .
In all seriousness, and no disrespect intended, the best and quickest way to get things started is to, how best to put this, have Denis get you started if you know what I mean.
Yup…sex will start you up!! My Dr. told us to go have sex too. I believe that there is oxitocin (spelled wrong) in the semen that is the natural version of pitocin…go for it you…you won’t have time to do it again for a while!!!
I agree on both points of advice. Jaynee, you hang in there – this is a selfless act your are doing for that precious little gift. When it is all over you won’t even care that you lost a little sleep. If the labor hasn’t started yet, it is because it’s not in God’s timing. There is an appointed time. Maybe she is going to be an Easter Monday baby like Jen – Monday’s child is fair of face…
Well, no labor this weekend. I’m more than a little bummed. Had another bad night of sleep – didn’t get any until about 4 a.m. this morning. Tried sleeping in three different places (bed, recliner, sofa). Am quite exhausted today.
I think this is God’s way of teaching Jane how to make due with little sleep once the baby is born.
You have to remember that the first birth tends to be late. Don’t be surprised if you have a few weeks at home alone before the baby is born.
Poor Jaynee…LW recommends drinking castor oil with some fruit juice. It’s supposed to be a natural labor inducer. I laughed and told her that your retching would be enough to induce labor if you actually tried to drink castor oil. She said she did it and that it worked.
Then there’s also the sex thing. That would be way more fun. 😉
If I could stay awake — or stay home. *lol*
High five, Sister! I think I can relate to how you’re feeling! I’ve read that fresh pineapple speeds things up, as does eggplant parmesan. I’ve been shining a flashlight “down there” and screaming, “GO TOWARDS THE LIGHT, MEREDITH! MOVE IT!!!”
I hope we both give birth soon.
Wait. Perhaps we should race. The spirit of competition might create baby-birthing adrenalin…
Well I am about 38 weeks and dilated to a three. I am so bummed out. I want to have this little girl today. I have tried black cohosh, Cumin tea, Castor oil, Laxative, Walking, Pineapple, mexican food, chinese food, the list goes on and on. I am now trying to talk the little darling into coming out to play.
