There’s nothing worse than non-communication from a seller on eBay. Before I bid on the keyboard I messaged the seller with a couple questions. He didn’t respond, but I went ahead and bid anyway since he has a great rating after selling 200+ items on eBay. After winning the bid I messaged him through the eBay system with a couple things – namely, wanting to pay cash, and wanting to pick up the keyboard this weekend since I’ll be in NoVA helping my sister‘s family move. Paranoid that the eBay messaging system might not be working (I know I’m not the only one that has 90% of the eBay mail go directly into my spam email folder), I opted to email him directly yesterday at the two addresses that were supplied once I won the bid. I apologized to him for sending him so many messages but that it was really important to find out if cash pickup was okay since I’m leaving today after work for NoVA.
As of now I have yet to receive a response on ANY of my messages. And yet his feedback talks about quick communication and good communication. But I’ve gotten NOTHING. It’s very frustrating because I don’t want to pay $50 in shipping when I can pick it up. The guy’s address is literally ON THE WAY and I can easily pick it up on Sunday as we head back to SC.
So let’s hope the guy emails me today, either way.
I would back out of the deal and give him negative feedback if he doesn’t respond to you before you leave VA.
Also, I wouldn’t have bid on the item until I got a response back from him regarding you picking up the item in person instead of shipping it.
No, I don’t want to back out of the deal. I’ll pay PayPal and have it shipped if that’s what he wants. But I’d PREFER to pay cash and pick it up. The frustration is merely that he hasn’t responded to my inquiry as to which way he would prefer.
And I felt comfortable bidding on the item since he has good feedback (97% with all negatives in the past few years resolving well). So I don’t think he’s a scammer AT ALL. He’s apparently just not one to check his email very often.
Maybe he’s out of town for a couple of days.
Marmie, that’s what I told her last night. Don’t know if she listened to me.
