So I got the first of thirteen parts done on my latest freelance project. The audio is just awful, and it took me twice as long as it normally would have taken had it been crystal-clear audio. I emailed the person that hired me to let her know of my difficulty, and she was kind enough to raise my final payout price (I had bid the job at a flat-fee rate given the nature of the description of the project).
So it was with trepidation that I sent the first part of the project this morning – I feared that since I had complained about the audio, resulting in a rise in price (that I didn’t ASK for – she did it voluntarily), that she’d find fault with my work.
However, she sent me some very nice words of encouragement and told me that I did a great job and she looked forward to having me complete the project. She also told me that the deadline (which is next Wednesday) is somewhat flexible and can be delayed a couple of days should it need to be moved. THAT made me very happy, given the amount of work that went into the first part in order to make sure they liked what I was doing.
And so now I’ll take the next hour or so to relax and chill, and then once I pick up CootieGirl from school I’ll get into the second chapter, with the hopes that it’ll go much faster from here on out.
