Excuses, Excuses

So you know how I bought a car on July 4? Well a couple weeks later the dealership called and said they needed to give me a $500 refund so that my loan would go up over $10K so that I could stay at the 60-month term for the loan. I was asked to go in last Saturday to sign the papers and pick up the refund check.

Arrived on Saturday – no papers to sign, no check. The financing guy told me that he’d get them overnighted to me on Monday for Tuesday delivery, then I could sign everything and send it back in a provided-by-them envelope on Wednesday for Thursday delivery.

Well guess what? It’s now FRIDAY and I’ve not received a package from them. I just called and he claimed the reason was that he wanted to get the check AND the papers so he could send one package instead of the papers and then the check. Yeah, :whatever:

So I’ve now been informed that once he gets all the documents he’ll bring everything to me so that I don’t have to go down to the dealership again. He said, “When I get everything, I’ll call you.”

Now, there are two things to think about.

1) If I owed them money they’d be on me like white on milk.
2) The longer he takes to get this done the longer I don’t have to make a payment on the loan. What are the odds that he’ll completely forget about me and I’ll NEVER have to pay on it? Wouldn’t that be nice?

The problem is we’ll have to make two payments (or three) at one time if they keep taking their sweet time. There’s very little way around making payments. This isn’t like having a floor re-finished. *lol*
