Eight Pounds Gone!

As of this morning I’ve lost 7.5 pounds. That’s one more pound gone. Actually, the scale waffled between 7.5 and 8 pounds, but on my spreadsheet I played it safe about put that I had lost one pound, not 1.5. I’ve VERY excited.

Last night as I laid in bed, I wondered where I’d first notice the weight loss. Eight pounds on my body isn’t TOO significant, but at some point I’ll start to see a subtle change when I look in the mirror. And this morning, it may have been wishful thinking, but I do think my waist looked a bit different this morning.

Next week my next set of 30 days begins – the commitment to drink a MINIMUM of 75 fl oz of water a day. Some days I have no problem drinking that much, other days I don’t drink ANYthing other than a glass of water with lunch and half a a bottle of water with dinner. To get ready for that 30-day commitment, I’m going to spend the next few days getting in the habit of going to get a small cup of water once an hour.

My no eating out commitment ended this past weekend, but I still brought in lunches for the entire week and plan on only going out for special occasions or when I just have to get away from the office.

Also, one of my co-workers who lives near me has said she’d love to walk with me when I begin that commitment during Lent. So I’m happy that I have a walking partner to keep me accountable for that.
