Have any of you been on a Club Med vacation? I haven’t, but I have friends who have been and sworn it’s the only way to travel. For those who don’t know, Club Med vacation resorts are specifically designed to be “care-free” in that they are completely all-inclusive vacations. From what I understand, EVERYTHING is paid for in your booking fee – food, drinks, basic activities, sleeping accommodations. I think the traveler only needs to pay the tips and special amenities while on the vacation.
Another great aspect of Club Med is that they offer these all-inclusive packages for every type of traveler – whether it’s a honeymooning couple, a large family of kids, or maybe a handful of single gals looking for a getaway. They have plans and locations specifically targeted for those groups, so that (for instance) honeymooners don’t have to be hassled by kids running around making all that noise.
I have a friend that went to Club Turkoise in the Turks & Caicos islands a few years ago and she came back gushing about what a great vacation it was and how she loved that everything was included in the price. She did pay for a few additional activities that were available on the island, like the spa and the casino, but that other than that she was comforted to know she had already paid for everything before she arrived.
It’s definitely something to think about when planning a future vacation – I’ve heard enough positive comments about Club Med that if the right deal came along for one of the family resorts, I’d probably go for it.
