Other than a few touchups here and there that I’ll do tonight, my tv room painting project is done. I’m VERY happy with how it turned out and it’s a great color that matches the curtains perfectly. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the reframed scroll to come back and it’ll be completely done!!
Pictures of every stage is after the jump…

Fourth coat:
Last coat, with curtains and lamps back in place to kind of show what it is supposed to look like (ignore painter’s tape – haven’t removed yet because we’ll have to score with a xacto knife to seperate the paint and the tape from each other):
It looks beautiful! Can’t wait to see it in person!
That tape is designed to just pull off, just take it very slowly. The exacto knife might actually do more damage to it.
WOW! What a huge difference! Looks gorgeous.
How does the room feel, Jaynee? Cosier? warmer? smaller? bigger?
I’ve never had the guts to colour a wall so dramatically.
Mom, it’s five layers of latex paint and already peeled off with the tape on a small portion I did behind the blue chair this morning. A home guru recommended using a ruler and a small exacto knife to get up the tape without messing up the latex. Yes, the TAPE comes right off, but the paint comes with it since it is latex interior satin enamel paint.
Talmida – the room does seem smaller, but since it’s a 14×19 room with lots of windows and open to the breakfast area and kitchen, it’s not that bad. It’s a VERY bold statement when you walk into the room and I love it.
I love it! I painted a bathroom that color and after the first coat my husband named it the “Blood Bath”…but the vision of the final product really came through! Your room looks great – I especially like the thin stripe of khaki above the picture molding!
Alrighty then! I hadn’t heard that advice, so go forth!
