Last night I got a special treat from Harold and Jean, the folks for whom I babysat so they could enjoy some alone time for an evening. She consulted my Amazon wishlist and purchased Pimsleur’s Quick and Simple Russian so that I can learn some stuff to say to CootieGirl. Like a little kid when I drove home I popped in the first CD and began my first lesson. I only got to listen to about five minutes of it last night, but it was great.
So this morning I started at the beginning and went through Lesson One twice on the way to work. I’ll do it once more on the way home. They say you should only do one lesson a day, but that you can do it multiple times.
In Russian, as of now I can say:
Thank you
Excuse me
Do you understand English/Russian
No, I do not understand English/Russian
I understand a little E/R
I am an American
I’m a pro at “Excuse me” but I have to concentrate to say the “do/don’t understand” bit because the pronunciation is so different than English. FUN STUFF.
Thanks, Harold and Jean!!!
No, thank you for the welcome break from baby duty. Glad you’re able to “study” during your commute!
CootieGirl will be delighted, da?
