Do You Think I’m Crazy?

So guess what I booked today?

A vacation to Quebec in 2009.

Yes, nearly two years in advance. LOVE IT.

That’s the best part of the whole timeshare thing – getting to plan trips WAY in advance. And I just deposited our latest exchange unit but will book that this time next year for the 2010 vacation (most likely Disney again for the kids). And yes, I already know where I want to go in 2011. Italy. I’ve always wanted to go, and I’m doing it even though I know Denis doesn’t want to go. That one may be a “girl’s only” vacation and I’ll see if I can take CootieGirl and also have Mom and Jen go too. CootieGirl will be eight years old in 2011 and would probably be thrilled to go on an exotic vacation like that.

Or she could beg to go to Disney World again. We’ll see.

Anyway, 2009 is taken care of – we’ll be just outside Quebec City. We specifically chose a place that is only 10-15 miles from the heart of the city. The past couple of timeshares we’ve visited have been in the middle of NOWHERE and we didn’t want that to happen again because spending all your time driving while on vacation can be rough.

Hey, that’s awesome. Quebec is a place I’d like to add to the list, too.

Yes, Quebec is a very nice charming city and close enough to Montreal to do both in a week-long vacation. Whoo Hoo!!!!

I’ve never been to Quebec, but I just got back from Italy a couple weeks ago (Rome & Tuscany). Denis, you’d definitely enjoy Italy; it’s such an interesting place. Rome’s a lot like New York meshed with the Italian culture, while Tuscany’s a relaxing country atmosphere and a beautiful area at that. Enjoy your trip planning.

Thanks for the Italy plug, Marty! EVERY TIME I mention going to Italy Denis wrinkles his nose at the thought. Maybe hearing it’s like NY will be enough inducement for him to actually go!

It’s worth going for the food alone, D! You’ll be even more inspired to cook like Giada.

Okay, pasta is boring. The stuff in the box is as good as any fresh stuff I’ve ever had. And I don’t speak Italian. Why would I care about Italy? It might as well be France. Call me an ugly American, but I’m right and I know Jen would agree with me. She’s a Fox News loyalist. LOL

Oooh Quebec City is an awesome place, good choice! One of my favorite cities on the planet.

So it looks like I am going to Italy (and all further foreign locations), and leaving Denis at home. YAY!

And Denis – you went to Holland and Belgium even though you didn’t speak Dutch. A little hypocritical, don’t you think?????????

Ali – I haven’t looked on a map yet, but is Quebec City far from Toronto? If it’s a reasonable drive, I’d be all over it!!
